On September 4th, thirteen high school students from Chiang Mai International School (Thailand) came over to the ECHO Asia Regional Office to learn about and help with a new container garden and perennial vegetable garden.  The students, all members of the school's "Planeteers" club, have dedicated themselves to caring for our environment.

Pods of the vanilla orchid (Vanilla planifolia) are used to make vanilla flavoring. Pictured here are vanilla orchid plants trained onto living posts (Gliricidia sepium). Apparently, the resulting curves in the vanilla orchid vines stimulates flowering to occur.
