Donor Privacy Policy

ECHO Inc. is committed to respecting the privacy of our donors. This privacy policy has been developed to ensure our donors that donor information will not be shared with any third party.

This Donor Privacy Policy is written to inform our donors and guide our staff on how personal information will be used. We also provide every donor with the opportunity to remove their name(s) (or opt out of) our mailing list, when requested to do so.

ECHO, Inc. collects and uses information from donors that includes: amount donated, address, telephone number, donor comments and email address. Tax laws in the United States require ECHO, Inc. to keep contact information and contribution level of donors on file.

ECHO, Inc. uses donor information to understand donors’ needs and provide excellent service. ECHO, Inc. will never sell, trade, rent or share names, email or mail addresses, or telephone numbers of our donors. All donor transactions such as those indicated below are processed internally by our professional staff:

1.           Distribute receipts for donations,

2.           Thank donors for their donations,

3.           Inform donors about upcoming events and other activities of ECHO, Inc.,

4.           Internal analysis and record keeping,

5.           Report to relevant U.S. and State agencies (these reports are not available for public inspection except as required by law),

6.           Contact donors about changes to this policy.

 

However, we allow donors the option to be recognized when permission is granted, and, properly anonymized donor information may be used for promotional and fundraising activities.  

All access to donor financial information is strictly limited to professional staff of ECHO, Inc. whose job requires them to process this data. No such data is given to any person, organization or group who does not need to access donor data. Donor records are kept in a secure file cabinet.

To accept contributions via credit card, ECHO, Inc. uses accredited online payment processing services with world-class security and data privacy policies. Unless requested by the donor for the purpose of processing recurring donations, ECHO Inc. does not store, nor does it have access to, your credit card information, bank account numbers, or other account data sent to those processing services.
