Tropical Agriculture Reference Library

ECHO library

ECHO's Staff and Interns frequently utilize the library for training and answering overseas technical requests

Delegates in Library

Delegates from ECHO's 2004 Agricultural Conference take a break between workshops to look up information on tropical agriculture in the library's online catalog

ECHO's Tropical Agriculture Research Library contains a rare collection of hard to find books, journals, newsletters, magazines, subject files, videos, and individual plant files invaluable to those working in tropical agriculture. ECHO's collection is truly one of a kind focusing on research as well as practical techniques for using underexploited plants, cover crops, agroforestry trees, soil improvement, urban gardening and technologies appropriate for developing countries.

ECHO's library is staffed by an experienced librarian and trained volunteers. It is an extremely useful tool for:

  • ECHO's staff, as they research answers to overseas technical requests
  • Interns receiving training at ECHO
  • College students taking classes hosted by ECHO, or needing reference materials on tropical agriculture
  • Visiting missionaries and delegates to ECHO's Agricultural Conference, as they all seek ways to use science to help the poor
