Our internships are designed to serve both as a support to ECHO's ministry and a hands-on training program in tropical horticulture or appropriate technologies.
This is an outstanding opportunity for personal and professional development for those seriously considering missionary service or other direct involvement with communities in developing countriess.
The knowledge and experience gained as an ECHO intern is comparable to a year of graduate school. The Internship Program provides an intense learning experience through active work involvement where most learning occurs through hands-on activities. Interns make a major contribution to ECHO's global ministry and are exposed to various aspects of this ministry. Interns are responsible for the Global Village demonstrations and quickly develop basic skills in various areas such as horticulture, small-scale farming techniques, community development, animal husbandry, agroforestry, appropriate technologies, public speaking, and managing volunteers. Interns also benefit from regular seminars, trainings and field trips designed to enhance these skills.
The next opportunity to apply will be March 15th - July 15th, 2012 for January or April 2013 internships.
