Work Teams

Throughout the year ECHO is visited by work teams from across the U.S. These groups come for about a week at a time to gain a greater understanding of ECHO's ministry and help the ECHO staff and interns better serve our overseas network. Work teams participate in activities such as construction, weeding, planting crops, mulching, painting, cleaning, helping in the office, and many other much needed activities.

Gordon students planting herbs for the Tropical Fruit NurseryStudents from Gordon College in Boston have been volunteering at ECHO for over a decade.  They have worked on projects in the Global Village, seed bank, office, and grounds.  They often come for spring break, and they always provide encouragement and assistance for the ECHO staff.

Indiana work team members sorting and cleaning seed in the seed bank Every summer, high school students from different states give their time and energy to work at ECHO.  Teenagers from three different Reformed Presbyterian churches in Indiana have come for the past several years. This summer they helped build many trenches, put in a few fences, and helped with the new seed bank roof.
