Eduardo Sabio Ph.D

Regional Director

Dr. Sabio earned his Ph.D from Cornell University in Agricultural Extension and Adult Education. Ed has worked in 10 Asian countries in the areas of agricultural development, community-based development, natural resources management, project management, participatory monitoring and evaluation, and applied research.

Before coming to ECHO, Ed has held the offices of Regional Director for Rikolto in Vietnam, Country Director for Heifer International in the Philippines and Program Head for the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction in the Philippines.


Daniela Riley

Office Manager

Daniela (DJ) graduated from Texas Christian University in 2000 with a degree in Advertising. DJ first came to Asia in 2004 to serve among the people of Central Asia. Now living in Chiang Mai with her family of 4 since 2012, she completed her MBA in July 2017 focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability practices among companies in the coffee industry of Northern Thailand. DJ is passionate about holistic ministry among the people of Asia.


Boonsong Thansrithong (Toh)

Agriculture Operations Manager

Toh holds a B.S. in Agriculture from Mae Jo University and a M.S. in Agriculture Extension from Chiang Mai University. Before coming to ECHO, Toh worked with Partners Relief and Development and has done work with aid relief and development across the Thai-Burma border, including natural farming training. Toh joined ECHO in 2012. He and his wife live in Chiang Mai.


Wenika Oimoon (Tak)

Accounting Associate

Tak is from Phayao, Northern Thailand. She has a degree in accounting from Payap University. Tak joined the ECHO Asia staff part-time in April of 2014 and also works for the Prosperous Youth Foundation. She has a passion for serving with Christian organizations in Thailand. Tak lives in Chiang Mai with her five dogs.


Rattakarn Arttawuttikun (Wah)

Seed Bank Manager

Originally from Jamnoi village in Chiang Mai province, Wah holds a degree in management from Chiang Rai Rajaphat University. Before coming to ECHO in 2010, she worked at the Upland Holistic Development Project (UHDP) in Mai Ai, Chiang Mai province. Outside of working in ECHO's seed production plots and managing the seed bank's daily operations, Wah also likes to prepare (delicious!) food from forest ingredients.

Kitichai Sampunsinkor (Chai)

Seed Production Manager

Chai is from Maejam in Chiang Mai province, Thailand. He studied plant science and holds a degree in Science / Agriculture Technology from Chiang Mai Rajaphat University. Before coming to work for ECHO Asia, Chai worked at the Upland Holistic Development Project and prior to that worked for Thailand's Royal Development Project. In his free time, Chai enjoys gardening, raising animals, and playing footbal.

Sombat Chalermliamthong

Farm Manager

Sombat is originally from Ruam Mitr village in Chiang Rai province. He has a degree in agricultural technology from Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. Sombat has joined ECHO as our new Farm Manager at a critical time when we are developing our new Small Farm Resource Center. Sombat is working diligently to develop and build demonstrations of different appropriate technologies that will assist smale-scale farming initiatives. Sombat sincerely enjoys farming and planting trees. He is married and has two daughters.


Yuwadee Danmalidoi (Paw)

Information and Quality Control Technician

Paw joined ECHO Asia staff in 2013 as the Information and Quality Control Technician. She is from Baan San Muang (A. Kanlayaniwatana, in Northern Thailand). Paw studied English Business as Rajaphat Univeristy in Chiang Mai. In the past, she worked at Compassion Thailand, where she did data management and reporting for their Children's Programs. In her free time, Paw enjoys playing guitar and listening to music. She can also often be seen driving her motorcycle through the countryside in Northern Thailand.


Asang Siemrai (Sang)

Seed Bank Technician

Sang is from Huay Sai Khao village, Chiang Mai Province. Before coming to ECHO in 2010, he worked at an orphanage in Chiang Mai. He now lives in Mai Ai with his wife, Soi, and their three year old son.


Chaiporn Siriraksook (Earth)

Seed Bank Technician

Originally from Mae Om Soon village in Chiang Mai province, Earth has a degree in Livestock from San Paa Tong College. He joined ECHO Asia's seed bank staff in 2012.


Patrick Trail

Research Coordinator & Regional Agricultural Trainer

Patrick is originally from Louisiana, but spent most of his growing-up years overseas. He lived in Rwanda, Mauritius, and Botswana before returning to the U.S. to begin university. After completing his undergraduate degree, he returned to Virginia Tech to complete a Master’s degree in Crop & Soil Environmental Sciences, and worked on a Feed the Future project in Senegal. Patrick is also an International Certified Crop Advisor.


Rose Chaitun

Legal and Administrative Associate

Rose Chaitun is from a Christian family from Nan province, Thailand. She moved to Chiang Mai to attend Payap University, and graduated with a major in Philosophy – Religion and Theology. Now living in Chiang Mai for more than 20 years, she is married and has one daughter and one dog. She began working with ECHO Asia on July 2017. She and her family currently lead a church plant in their home and worship every Sunday with around 15-20 people.  Rose is so happy to with serve God with ECHO Asia and her ministry.


Sittipol Lumlerkit (Sun)

Seed Technology Assistant

Sun is a city boy who grew up in a Christian family living here in Chiang Mai. He attended Chiang Mai University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. An avid guitar player and reader, Sun joined the ECHO Asia team in 2019 with a desire to serve in a Christian organization working in the field of agriculture.


Hanni Oppel

Hospitality Coordinator

Originally from Vancouver Island, Canada, Hanni spent her growing up years here in Thailand and Malaysia. She completed her studies at Trinity Western University with a Bachelor of Arts in English & Psychology and a Bachelor of Education and has spent 14 years teaching in the international school setting. Hanni joined ECHO Asia part-time in 2019 to serve as the Hospitality Coordinator and facilitate farm visits, volunteers, and promote the public face of our ministry.
